Basic Counting

Counting is one of those things that happens naturally for toddlers through play, but that does not mean we can skip teaching it. So we are doing just that here. This is store-bought counters, but you can use blocks as well. Use a dry-erase pen to mark them like a dice, with dots or numbers, and use other colored blocks like we used the counters:

- sorting colours #sorting skills, #differentiation skills

- counting according to the dots on the dice #counting skills, #visual differentiation skills

- counting according to the numbers on the dice #counting skills

- introduce concepts like less and more, add, take-away etc. #mathematical skills,#language skills

With Lella activities like these dont last long, but we still accomplish some learning.

You can decide how long and how much you want to do with your child, let the child lead you according to his/her attention span and interest.
