Outside Play: Doing Dishes

So spring is in the air here in South Africa, and that means spring cleaning for us!
So we had a playful cleaning activity, washing Lella's kitchen toys to start with. I set up a washing station outside, with a soap container, rinse container and dry table. I waited for Lella to come home before adding the soap so she could do it and first have fun making the soapy bubbles. She loves blowing bubbles with a straw during bathtime and this she also enjoyed. She washed and rinsed for a while, we talked about the objects #language skills, she watched what is going on from the side of the bucket, what floats and not (that is what is nice when you use a see through one).

We sorted some cutlery, #sorting skills, and counted it also, #counting skills.

All the while having an audience!

I was a bit dissapointed because she lost interest quite quickly, but ah well, at least I can cross of one of the million tasks on the Spring cleaning to-do list!
