Wooden Spoon Puppets

These wooden spoon I made as examples for my craft children(Creative Little Hands), when they made their own families a while ago. They had lots of fun making them and not one looked the same!

It is great tools to use in a classroom(or at home) for storytelling or imagination play. I did not take it out yet to use with Lella(she can still be a bit destructive, I feel too sentimental about them), but one of these days I'll suprise her with this. (I will post an update then).

But it is very easy to make, all you need is a few wooden spoons and decorative items (you can also just draw on the faces, but what is the fun in that, hey?).

I used googly eyes and bling objects for noses and mouths. Some wool for the hair and beard/moustache. Bend some wire to look like glasses for granma and grandpa. Used ribbon and lace for the females and cut felt ties for the males.
I did not bother with clothes, but you can be more creative than me and make clothes for your puppets as well.

This was fun to make, and hopefully it will last a while for us to play with.
Why not make your own and get the kids involved too! (When you do, please come and brag with a photo on our facebook wall.)
