The other day someone asked a question to a group of kid bloggers: "When do you know that you know you are a kid blogger?" . My answer: "When I see everyday items and think,hmm how can we use this to create some learning experience?"! I am not crazy, right? Only creative? Other kid bloggers, can you relate?
This is one of those activities, I saw the make up brushes and thought how interesting it will be to paint with these rather than with our ordinary utensils. It is not a very pretty craft, because the focus was on the process, seeing what different patterns the different brushes make, etc. but still fun!
The thickest brush were Lella's favourite.
The other brushes were kind of the same as painting with a ordinary paint brush, except for the eyebrow comb- thingie (the red flat line).
The end result, like I said not so pretty, but very educational. We talked about the differences, thick, thin lines etc. developing #languageskills, #visualdiscreminationskills. #midlinecrossing was practised when she painted a line from the one side of the paper to the other side.
Interesting fact: a child that has problems crossing his midline, will stop halfway on the paper, swap hands and continue with the line! This results in major problems when the child starts to learn to write, so very important to practise this skill!
