Handmade Gifts by Kids Series #5

This week I'm sharing Fabric Painting Gift ideas.

The hand print flowers were a tray cloth for a granny. So cute how brother and sister's hands differ in size. The purple flowers were done with Lella's thumbprints. Did not even try to do it with baby brother's thumbs, the hand print itself was nearly impossible!

The bottom photo is of a placemat. We did this one in craft class a while back. We used a template for the plate, knife and fork. Then the kids could paint whatever they wanted on the plate and make a frame themselves.

The best material to use for fabric painting is Calico. Cotton also works nicely (we love painting cotton
t -shirts and pillow cases).

Always remember to iron at the back of the painting for around 3 minutes before using it. This will ensure the paint stays on the fabric when washed.

Have fun!
