Fun with a Box

Boxes are something you always have around, and its free,so why not use it for fun? I used a pillow just to soften it for baby and he sat so nicely. (Still practising those muscles) Pulled him around in it for a bit ,exposing him to the feeling of movement,and specifically his body being moved (spatial relation) Then I gave him some toys and he played safely for a while.
Later his sister and cousin also wanted to join in the fun,but first decided they have to make the box into a car,with wheels and of course a tow bar; )
When Lella was smaller I turned a box upside down and made a few holes big enough for small balls to fit through. She enjoyed "posting" the ball and then recovered them by lifting the box. (Hand-eye coordination, getting the balls into the holes,and object permanence,realizing its still there even if you don't see it. )

More  imaginative ideas:
* turn a big box into a house (for baby or dolls)
* turn a big box into a boat
* use the box as a target to throw balls/bean bags in
* use as a garage for cars
* use boxes of different sizes for construction
* build a fort

The possibilities are endless and its a "green" activity as well!
