Float vs Sink

So with this very hot weather we are experiencing over here in South Africa (I mention where we live often, because our readers are from all over the globe), we are in the water most days to cool off.

Today I used this as a teaching tool today because Lella is at this stage very interested in the science floating and sinking. Such a simple science activity, but fun and educational as well.

I grabbed a few toys and stuff around the house and simple let them play with it in the water, talking about what floats, what sinks and why. We counted how many were sinking and how many were floating. #languagedevelopment, #simplescience, #opposites, #counting, #sorting, etc.

Sister playing and exploring.

Brother playing and exploring(mostly by putting it in the mouth!)

Playing while learning is the best way for toddlers to learn, and the most fun (for everyone)!

Come back soon for more fun, playful ideas!
